The Talensi branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has refuted claims that a fire which broke out at its party office on April 5, 2025, was triggered by youth protests over the nomination of John Millim Nabwomya as District Chief Executive (DCE).

In a statement, the party’s communications officer, Michael Nangena, dismissed the speculation as false, stressing that no protest occurred and no members were present when the fire started.

He affirmed that the constituency has fully embraced Nabwomya’s nomination, describing the reaction as one of unity and gratitude.

Although the fire destroyed documents, chairs, and some equipment, parts of the office and desktop computers were saved.

Nangena urged the public to disregard misinformation, as investigations into the actual cause of the fire are still ongoing.
