Teiko accuses Mahama of packing courts with NDC judges

Daniel Teiko, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, has made serious accusations. He claims the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, led by President John Dramani Mahama, is compromising judicial independence.

During an interview on Wontumi FM, Teiko expressed concern about appointing partisan judges. He warned that this could erode public trust in Ghana’s legal system. It may also severely damage democratic governance.

Teiko alleged that without an NDC party card, winning a court case is impossible. He described the justice system under Mahama as politicized and biased.

He compared the NDC's actions to “calling a dog a bad name just to hang it.” This suggests they are manipulating public narratives for controversial decisions.

Teiko cautioned that these actions would have long-lasting negative effects on the legal framework. He stated, “What is good for the goose is good for the gander.” This implies future governments might use similar tactics, deepening political divisions and undermining judicial neutrality.
