Telecel Ghana celebrated the best musical talents at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs). The event took place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre. It was a night filled with excitement, fashion, and outstanding performances.
King Promise won the prestigious Artiste of the Year award. He also took home three other awards: Album of the Year for "True To Self," Best Afrobeats Artiste, and Best Afropop Song for his hit "Paris." King Paluta won Telecel Most Popular Song of the Year for his single "Aseda." He also received awards for Highlife Song of the Year and Producer of the Year.
The Music for Good Award went to Epixode. This award includes a GHS 20,000 cash prize. Epixode was recognized for his song "Chooboi," which addresses environmental issues caused by illegal mining. He called for accountability and environmental justice through his music.
Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai, CEO of Telecel Ghana, presented several awards that night. She emphasized music's power to connect people and uplift spirits. Epixode accepted his award remotely and encouraged musicians to use their songs to inspire change in society.
The TGMAs featured impressive performances from artists like King Promise, Stonebwoy, and Kidi. The red carpet showcased bold fashion under the theme "Proudly Made in Ghana."
After the awards, guests enjoyed an after-party at the Telecel Red Room. Senior leaders, high-value customers, and celebrities mingled over drinks and gourmet food.
