Thank You Tour: Bawumia speaking from ‘Collective Standpoint’ – Ahiagbah

Richard Ahiagbah is the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He has dismissed claims about former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Critics say Bawumia is trying to distance himself from the previous government's failures during the Thank You Tour.

Ahiagbah responded to these claims amid growing scrutiny of Bawumia’s statements. He clarified that Bawumia's tone should be seen as inclusive and representative of a shared legacy. “I don’t think he is distancing himself,” Ahiagbah said on Channel One’s Newsroom on April 28.

He emphasized that Bawumia remains committed to the administration’s decisions. Bawumia played a central role in governance, according to Ahiagbah. “There is no way Dr. Bawumia will distance himself because we are all together in that decision,” he added.

Ahiagbah questioned any political advantage from distancing oneself from the government. He stressed that Bawumia’s messaging focuses on unity, responsibility, and a forward-looking vision. “What benefit would that bring to anybody?” he asked.
