Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Prof. Ransford Gyampo, has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to distance itself from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and overhaul its leadership.
He believes the NPP's defeat in the 2024 elections, where the National Democratic Congress (NDC) secured 56%, is a direct result of poor leadership under Akufo-Addo and the current party executives.
Gyampo warned that unless the party returns to its roots and replaces its leadership, it risks further decline.
He described the defeat as a "potential decimation" of the NPP and urged a complete reset to restore its former glory.
