The suit wearing men took us to the ditch; Ghana needs a radicalist as a leader – Kwaku Kwarteng

Hon Kwaku Kwarteng, the MP for Obuasi West, believes Ghana needs a radical leader. He thinks only such leaders can help the country escape its current troubles.

Kwarteng spoke to TESCON members at the University of Cape Coast. He criticized past leaders in suits who have failed to improve the country's situation.

He said, "We misuse borrowed money instead of creating revenue ourselves." He added that post-independence governments have relied heavily on borrowing. This has led to corruption and an unstable economy.

Kwarteng expressed concern about job opportunities for university graduates. He asked, "Where will we find work for them?"

He emphasized that Ghana cannot continue on its current path. "We must change course," he stated. Other countries have made changes; why can't Ghana?

He urged for a focus on entrepreneurship to create jobs and prosperity. However, he noted that entrenched interests make change difficult.

Politicians often struggle against these strong interests and may give up. To avoid a worse future for children and grandchildren, Kwarteng called for a radical leadership change.

"We need bold leaders who can disrupt the status quo," he said. He concluded that it is time for new leadership willing to confront challenges and lead Ghana toward prosperity.
