This is not what he promised us – School Feeding Caterers appeal to Mahama

The School Feeding Caterers Association is asking President John Dramani Mahama for help. They are upset about the sudden suspension of the school feeding program.

Nana Otu Sakyi-Amo, the Association’s spokesperson, shared their disappointment in an interview on Channel One TV. She said many caterers are now in distress.

“This is not what he promised us,” she stated. “He didn’t promise to put us into debt or let bankers chase us from our homes.”

The sudden halt has caused financial uncertainty for many caterers. Those who took loans for ingredients and supplies are particularly affected.

“We are still pleading with His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to speak through the ministry by Monday,” she added. “We want to go back and cook for the children.”

The Association believes the government’s silence goes against promises made during the presidential campaign. They are calling for quick action to restore the program and clarify their future.

The school feeding program is crucial for pupils and provides jobs for many women. Now, caterers are unsure when or if they can return to work.
