Suspected thugs, allegedly linked to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), disrupted the collation of parliamentary election results at the Electoral Commission’s Greater Accra Regional Office.

Eyewitnesses reported that over 40 individuals stormed the venue, ordered attendees out, and vandalized property, including louvre blades and doors.

The incident comes as the Ablekuma North Constituency grapples with delayed results. Only three polling stations remain unresolved out of 281, sparking disputes between the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The process has been suspended six times, with tensions escalating after Returning Officer Vincent Obeng resigned amid disagreements.

The Electoral Commission is working to resume collation, urging transparency as both parties push for resolution in this contentious race.
