Titus Glover slams NDC over “Rambo-Style” arrest of Wontumi

Former Greater Accra Regional Minister Titus Glover has made serious accusations. He claims the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is targeting Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi. Glover says this is a politically motivated and violent witch-hunt.

Wontumi was arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on May 27. This happened shortly after he reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service. His visit was part of his bail conditions.

The arrest sparked protests from NPP supporters and leaders. They gathered at EOCO’s premises, demanding Wontumi's immediate release.

In an interview with Channel One News, Glover criticized the government. He accused them of bypassing due process and detaining Wontumi without formal charges. “If they have anything incriminating, they should prepare the charges,” he said.

Glover also claimed that the NDC uses state institutions to intimidate political opponents. He believes these actions have become common since the party took office. He insisted that such targeted arrests will not silence the opposition or weaken NPP leadership.
