A youth group from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Garu has protested. They claim that their MP, Dr. Thomas Winsum Anaba, uses discriminatory tactics.
The group believes Dr. Anaba is not managing the area fairly. They held a press conference on June 2, 2025, to express their concerns.
They mentioned several incidents as examples of bias. These include issues with the school feeding program and attempts to reappoint a district director after a recent appointment.
The youth accuse Dr. Anaba of favoring only his supporters from the NDC primaries. They urge national and regional NDC executives to intervene.
They want Dr. Anaba to stop running a parallel administration.
In response, John Abugba Abaare, the District Chief Executive (MCE), denied the allegations. He blamed misunderstandings on local NDC executives instead.
