Vice President Prof Opoku-Agyemang returns to Ghana

Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has returned to Ghana. She received extensive medical treatment in the United Kingdom. Her arrival ends her medical leave.

She sought further care in the UK after an initial consultation at UGMC.

President John Dramani Mahama expressed relief about her recovery. He spoke during his Thank You Tour in Dodowa on May 16. “I’m happy to state that I spoke to her yesterday morning,” he said.

He added, “By God’s grace, she is fully recovered.” The President confirmed she would return to her duties soon.

There was public concern about the Vice President's health. Some speculated about her possible passing. However, government officials assured the public she was in good health.
