Former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong has withdrawn from the NPP's Thank You Tour.
He stated he cannot protect his followers during the tour.
His decision follows an incident where a student was stabbed by Ali Suraj's security.
Agyapong expressed concern, saying, "If they treat students like this, what will happen to my boys?"
He decided to let Dr. Bawumia continue the tour alone as the former flagbearer.
Agyapong informed Dr. Bawumia and the General Secretary about his withdrawal.
They agreed it was the right decision for him to step back.
He emphasized that he wants justice for the young man who was stabbed.
Agyapong reassured his followers that he will not abandon them in difficult times.
Additionally, he officially announced his intention to contest for the flagbearership position.
"I will be contesting because we have built the party for a long time," he said.
