W/R: NDC youth lock up NSS Office over Coordinator’s appointment

A group of youth aligned with the National Democratic Party (NDP) has forcibly locked up the Western Regional office of the National Service Secretariat in protest against the recent transfer of Daniel Dawusu as Regional Coordinator.

The group claims the appointment disregards local representation, arguing that the post should be filled by someone native to the Western Region. They insist that bringing in an outsider undermines the interests of the area.

At a press briefing on Wednesday, April 16, the NDC Constituency Youth Organiser, Kwabena Afriyie, defended the group’s actions and vowed to keep the office closed until their demands are met.

“We have locked up the office… we’ll keep it shut until our demands are addressed,” he said.

He further called on authorities to rescind the appointment and instead consider their preferred candidate.

“All we are saying is that they should withdraw the current appointee and assign the name we have submitted for the role. He is equally qualified, and accepting our demand will ensure peace in the region,” Afriyie added.
