Was it a gift to the state? – IMANI boss demands clarity on President Mahama’s use of brother’s private jet

Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, has called on the Presidency to clarify whether the cost of President John Mahama's recent travels on his brother Ibrahim Mahama's private jet was classified as a gift to the state and duly declared.

While acknowledging Ibrahim Mahama’s history of philanthropy, Cudjoe emphasized the importance of transparency to avoid public concerns over potential conflict of interest.

The Acting Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, previously explained that the trips to The Gambia and Senegal incurred no cost to the state due to the use of the Dzata aircraft, owned by Ibrahim Mahama.

Cudjoe's statement reflects broader concerns over accountability, drawing parallels to past controversies under the Akufo-Addo administration regarding transparency in financial dealings.

He urged the presidency to address the matter to reinforce trust in governance.
