During the vetting of Attorney General-designate Dr. Dominic Ayine on January 13, 2025, tensions arose when Suame MP John Darko questioned a potential conflict of interest involving Dr. Ayine's law firm.
The Committee Chairman ruled that the matter had already been addressed, but Darko insisted on revisiting it, leading to a clash.
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin supported Darko, accusing the Chairman of bias against NPP members and unfair treatment of newer members.
Afenyo-Markin expressed frustration with the Chairman’s handling of the situation, urging more fairness.
As the disagreement escalated, Afenyo-Markin dramatically walked out of the proceedings, intensifying the conflict during the vetting process.
