We are not part of it – NDC denies taking GHC 8m from NSB

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly denied claims of receiving over GH¢8 million from the National Signals Bureau (NSB). They call these allegations politically motivated and completely baseless.

This response follows a memo from former NSB Director Kwabena Adu-Boahene. The memo claimed funds were given to opposition parties for election logistics. Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, NDC’s Deputy Director of Elections and IT, firmly rejected these claims.

Dr. Tanko-Computer stated, “Those people they’re referring to supported them during their recent demonstration.” He questioned why his opponents would fund him to defeat them in an election. This statement was made during an interview with Joy News on May 9.

The memo has sparked debate, with ruling party members suggesting the NDC received secret state funds. However, Dr. Tanko-Computer insisted that the NDC finances its own campaign and electoral operations independently.

He said, “I can speak on authority—it’s not possible at all.” He accused others of grasping at straws and warned Adu-Boahene about potential legal consequences for alleged misappropriation.

Dr. Tanko-Computer emphasized that the NDC's successes come from its own efforts, not outside help. He noted that during IPAC meetings, the NDC often opposed the Electoral Commission and the NPP while other parties sided with them.

He concluded by distancing the party from what he called “rubbish.” Dr. Tanko-Computer asserted that the NDC is not involved in any underhand dealings with state agencies.
