We don’t want you playing in the mud – Nana B to Attorney General

In an interview on Joy News, Henry Nana Boakye, known as Nana B, criticized Ghana’s Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine. He called out Ayine for mishandling corruption allegations made by Gomoa Central MP, A Plus.

Nana B expressed disappointment that the Attorney General responded through media instead of legal channels. A Plus accused Ayine of being corrupt and a thief. “A Plus is not just anyone,” Nana B said. “He is an Honourable Member of Parliament.”

Nana B questioned Ayine’s claim that A Plus was retaliating over campaign funds from Dr. Sledge. He stated that this explanation was unsatisfactory and unimpressive.

“People have advised you to sue A Plus for defamation,” he noted. “But you won’t do it because you don’t want distractions.”

He added, “If A Plus wants to play in the mud with you, go ahead.” He emphasized that the public does not want their Attorney General engaging in such behavior.

Nana B found it unacceptable for someone in a constitutional role to avoid legal action for public banter. “This is the only ministerial portfolio mentioned in the Constitution,” he pointed out.

He also referenced A Plus's renewed accusations on social media. A Plus claimed that Ayine sought money to bribe members of the Appointments Committee.

“Now, A Plus goes back to Facebook saying you are lying,” Nana B said, disturbed by the seriousness of these claims.
