We’ve done our duty, issues will be sorted on Monday – Lawyer for Wontumi

Lawyer Appiah Kubi represents the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi. He addressed confusion about Wontumi's whereabouts amid reports that EOCO restricted access to him. Leading NPP members have also been barred from seeing him.

In a statement, Kubi tackled the rumors directly. He said, “The chairman wants to be a lawyer and he appears to be a lawyer.” This suggests that Wontumi is aware of his legal situation.

Kubi mentioned hearing from Bawumia and Alexander Finyomaki. They reported visiting NIB but did not find Wontumi there. He emphasized that they know exactly where the chairman is located.

He stressed the importance of handling such matters properly. Kubi advised against attempts to "throw stones when you want to enter the house." Respect for due process is crucial, he added.

Kubi acknowledged public officers who worked late to assist their legal team. He stated, “We’ve done what is dutifully our job to do with genius.” Some difficulties arose but will be resolved by Monday for better progress.

When asked about Wontumi's location, Kubi confirmed he knows where his client is. They had tried to arrange a meeting with the Vice President but faced challenges due to crowds. Wontumi’s health condition also complicates meeting arrangements.

Kubi concluded by stating he would avoid political drama surrounding the case. “I will stay out of politics and do my work within the law,” he said, thanking everyone for their support.
