Minister of Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu announced an investigation into 65 individuals. This is part of the Mahama administration's effort to recover misappropriated state resources.
On TV3’s The Key Points, he emphasized the government's commitment to ending impunity. “In the past, people flouted this with no consequences,” he said. He noted that President Mahama aims to change this culture.
The initiative, called Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), has handled over 200 cases. Out of these, 65 individuals are currently under active investigation. “65 people have been investigated out of over 200 cases from ORAL,” the minister stated.
He explained delays in some appointments related to this initiative. The Attorney-General is reviewing specific cases for appropriate actions.
“The reason we need to wait for the A-G is due to different appointment dates,” he clarified. Public interest is growing, and Kwakye Ofosu assured that legal procedures are being followed. He stated that sanctions are now a key part of the government’s approach. “We have moved from no sanction to where there is sanction,” he asserted.
