Henry Nana Boakye, known as Nana B, criticized the arrest of NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, or Chairman Wontumi, was arrested recently. Nana B called this a clear case of political harassment.
He accused President John Mahama's government of abusing power. He claimed they are using intimidation tactics just months into office. “This political harassment—President Mahama, this is not why we voted for you,” he stated.
Nana B questioned how Wontumi was treated after his police invitation. He suggested the arrest was aggressive and politically motivated. “Trust me, we will not sit down and allow this,” he warned.
He promised that people would hear from them soon. “The voice of the people is the voice of God,” he added.
While supporting lawful investigations, Nana B insisted on respecting due process. He said having public support does not justify harassment. “What kind of life is that?” he asked.
Nana B reiterated their willingness to cooperate but condemned political intimidation. “We will not allow it,” he concluded.
