World-class forest amusement park ‘We-Ape’ opens in Aburi

Ghana's eco-tourism and adventure industry has received a boost. The We-Ape Mega Zipline and Adventure Park officially launched in Aburi, Eastern Region. This world-class forest amusement park aims to attract adventure seekers, families, corporate groups, and schools.

We-Ape spans 3.5 acres of untouched rainforest. It offers thrilling activities like two obstacle courses. The Family Course is for both children and adults. The Fitness Course is for those seeking a physical challenge.

Visitors can enjoy canopy walks, cable bikes, net obstacles, and high-speed ziplines. These activities are set against beautiful forest backdrops. The park also features modern facilities such as a café and conference rooms.

It has a large activity field suitable for corporate retreats and team-building events. We-Ape has launched an environmental learning program for schools. This program combines outdoor education with sustainability principles.

The park uses its rich biodiversity to teach students about environmental responsibility. Local government officials and tourism stakeholders attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 6. William Adzraku, Executive Director of We-Ape, expressed excitement about the park’s opening.

He described it as a passion project years in the making. Guest of Honour Emma Wenani emphasized the importance of nature-centric spaces today. She noted that they provide an escape from urban life while offering learning opportunities.

Dr. Jones Quartey from the University of Ghana echoed this sentiment. He highlighted how We-Ape's natural elements will enhance experiential learning for students.

With a focus on sustainability, education, and wellness tourism, We-Ape is more than an amusement park. It aims to be a lifestyle destination that merges nature, adventure, and learning.
