Legal counsel for Kwabena Adu-Boahene, Atta Akyea, has accused the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) of imposing unjust bail conditions and violating his client’s constitutional rights.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on GHOne TV, Akyea questioned EOCO’s justification for its actions, arguing that Adu-Boahene has not shown any signs of evading justice.
“If my client was guilty, would he voluntarily leave Ghana and return through Kotoka? He even waited for his luggage. Does that sound like someone trying to evade justice?” he asked.
Akyea further criticized EOCO for allegedly restricting his private consultations with Adu-Boahene and recording their discussions, calling it a breach of constitutional rights.
Vowing to challenge the conditions in court, he stated, “Justice should not be manipulated. My client is entitled to fair treatment under the law.”
