The Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Mahama Abubakari II, supports the government’s efforts for peace. He spoke during a visit from Interior Minister Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.
Ya-Na encouraged all stakeholders to promote peace. This includes traditional authorities, political actors, and community members. He urged everyone to resolve conflicts through dialogue and legal means.
“We cannot develop if we are divided,” he said. “As traditional leaders, we must lead by example.” He emphasized the importance of harmony among people.
Ya-Na expressed confidence in the government's peace-building strategies. He pledged full cooperation from the Dagbon Kingdom to promote stability.
Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak thanked Ya-Na for his warm welcome. He recognized the vital role of traditional rulers in maintaining peace. The Minister assured that the government is committed to addressing security challenges.
He stated, “We consider our traditional leaders key partners in security.” The government aims to foster lasting peace in conflict-prone communities.
