Yaw Ampofo Ankrah vows to use broadcasting experience to develop Ghana Football

Yaw Ampofo Ankrah is the new Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA). He thanked President John Dramani Mahama for this opportunity.

In an interview with Gideon Okyere Anim on Original TV, he expressed his gratitude. He plans to use his experience as a sports broadcaster to help develop sports in Ghana, especially football.

Ampofo Ankrah noted that his career in sports journalism has given him valuable insights. He is ready to tackle challenges and drive improvements in Ghana's sporting sector.

He highlighted infrastructure issues at national stadiums like Cape Coast and Essipong. “We have a lot of work to do,” he said about Cape Coast Stadium’s poor condition.

He mentioned that while Essipong Stadium has seen some progress, it still faces major setbacks. These include lack of electricity and land encroachment issues.

His appointment has generated optimism within the sports community. Many hope his leadership will bring development and professionalism to Ghana’s sports administration.
