Yendi: NPP member quits to run as independent parliamentary candidate

Hussain Abdul Karim Labaani, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Yendi constituency, has filed to run as an independent parliamentary candidate in the upcoming December elections.

Labaani made this decision following dissatisfaction with the party's parliamentary primaries and the National Executive Committee's imposition of the current MP, Alhaji Faruq Ali Mahama.

Labaani and his supporters criticized the MP’s leadership and broken promises, calling for democratic representation.

Labaani emphasized that his decision is not against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia but a stand for the people's choice in leadership.
