Dominic Nitiwul, the MP for Bimbilla, urged Parliament to listen to Ghanaians.
He noted that the previous government ignored the people's concerns. As a result, they faced defeat in the 2024 election.
Nitiwul warned that if the current government does not listen, they may also lose power in four years.
He highlighted that the finance ministry poses challenges for every government. The ministry's power must be curtailed to avoid downfall.
In his speech in Parliament, Nitiwul said, “The Majority should take this seriously. It is not an insult or attack; it’s just facts.”
He added that although the government is only five months old, signs of trouble are visible. He compared it to dark clouds signaling rain.
Nitiwul emphasized that one major issue is the Finance Ministry's power. He cautioned that ignoring these warnings could lead to consequences in four years.
This week, Parliament passed a new fuel levy of GHC 1 per liter.
The levy aims to generate funds to reduce debt levels in the energy sector.
