You can arrest all of us; we’ll remain resolute and defeat you in 2028 – Afenyo-Markin to NDC

Alexander Afenyo-Markin Alexander Afenyo-Markin

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has vowed that no level of intimidation or political persecution will weaken the opposition's resolve, declaring that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will reclaim power in the 2028 elections.

Speaking after the debate on the 2025 Budget Statement on Tuesday, March 25, Afenyo-Markin accused the Mahama-led administration of weaponizing state institutions to harass political opponents.

"You can arrest all of us, but we will remain resolute. No amount of intimidation will break our spirit. In 2028, we will defeat you and restore true governance to this country," he stated.

He criticized what he termed the government's misuse of the justice system to silence opposition voices, stressing that governance should focus on development, not political witch-hunting.

“A government that prioritises persecution over progress is bound to fail. Ghanaians are watching, and they will decide in 2028,” he warned.

Afenyo-Markin urged his colleagues in the opposition to stand firm, assuring supporters that the Minority remains committed to defending democracy and holding the government accountable.
