Policy Analyst Dr. Steve Manteaw believes the President of Ghana may lose public support soon.
He bases this view on recent appointments made by the president.
Manteaw argues that many appointments are mismatched for their roles. This situation is concerning, especially given the president's previous strong support.
He shared his thoughts in a Facebook post seen by MyNewsGh.com.
“Truth be told, some recent Mahama appointments don’t cut well,” he stated. “He must watch it, lest he loses the public goodwill he enjoys.”
H. Kwasi Prempeh, Chairman of the Constitutional Amendment Committee, also commented on this issue.
He suggested limiting direct presidential appointments to improve quality in positions.
“When a President has too much appointment power, quality control suffers,” he explained.
He emphasized the need for oversight during and after appointments.
Prempeh proposed defining clear criteria and qualifications for certain roles as a solution.
