You promised to bring Ken Ofori-Atta in May, where is he? – Mahama Ayariga slams Afenyo-Markin

Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga criticized Effutu MP Alexander Afenyo-Markin. He accused Afenyo-Markin of failing to bring former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta back to Ghana.

Afenyo-Markin had promised on February 18 that Ofori-Atta would return in May 2025. This was after a medical assessment abroad.

In Parliament, Ayariga asked, “Mr. Speaker, where is Ken Ofori-Atta? You promised he would come in May. Now it’s June—where is he?”

He questioned Afenyo-Markin's credibility and accountability. “You assured us he would return in May,” Ayariga said.

Ayariga demanded that Afenyo-Markin should not be heard again in the House. He stated, “When you make promises, you must fulfill them.”

He emphasized the need for consistency and integrity in leadership. “If we make promises as MPs, we must keep them.”
