Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), sent a letter to former Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, praising his leadership during his eight years in office.
The letter commended Akufo-Addo for laying a strong foundation for Ghana’s future and for his government’s successful collaboration with the IMF.
Georgieva highlighted the recent completion of the third review of the IMF-supported program and the progress made in restoring macroeconomic stability.
She also acknowledged Akufo-Addo’s efforts in advocating for Sub-Saharan Africa during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The letter concluded with appreciation for his reforms and leadership, wishing him success in his future endeavors.
