The Ghana Police Service is increasing its efforts against illegal mining.
They are focusing on the Tano Nimiri Forest Reserve and the Tano River in the Western Region.
On Thursday, April 18, police arrested ten more suspects involved in galamsey.
This operation was based on intelligence and led to significant seizures.
Police confiscated 11 excavators and a bulldozer from the site along the river.
The machinery has been moved across the river for secure storage.
This operation follows another raid on Wednesday, April 17.
During that raid, police arrested 26 suspects: 18 Ghanaians and eight Chinese nationals.
These arrests occurred in the Subri Forest and along the Tano River.
