25 injured in Gomoa Mprumen highway crash

A collision between a Sprinter Benz bus (GW 8172-22) and a Nissan pickup (GN 3611-24) at Gomoa Mprumen Junction on the Winneba-Mankesim Highway has left 13 passengers seriously injured and 11 others with minor injuries.

The crash occurred when the pickup driver attempted an illegal U-turn, while the speeding Sprinter driver failed to control the vehicle.

All 25 injured passengers are receiving treatment at Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital and Apam St. Luke Catholic Hospital.

Apam District Fire Service Commander DO2 Anthony Kwesi Rhule urged drivers to avoid reckless speeding and dangerous overtaking, calling on passengers to remain vigilant to help prevent such accidents.
