At least five people have been injured after a rainstorm destroyed over 60 houses in the Amakye-Bare community in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region.
The storm, which lasted just five minutes, displaced over 100 people, leaving families homeless.
Assembly member Collins Osei-Tutu confirmed that some buildings collapsed on residents, but early intervention saved lives.
A man, his wife, and children were trapped in a collapsed building but were rescued with injuries. Some workers were also swept away while sheltering in a container.
A local traditional ruler has covered victims' medical bills, while residents call for government and NGO support.
The district assembly and NADMO have been informed and are expected to provide assistance.
