The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi South, Daniel Dagba, has made an appeal. He is asking charitable organizations, businesses, and individuals for help. Many residents were severely affected by a recent rainstorm.
Mr. Dagba spoke during the distribution of relief items to victims. He highlighted the widespread destruction caused by the storm. He called it one of the worst disasters in recent times.
“When the devastation struck weeks ago, we acted quickly,” he said. Local leaders helped compile a list of those affected. A dedicated team will oversee fair and transparent distribution.
He mentioned that initial relief supplies have been secured. These include bags of cement and roofing sheets from generous donors like Mr. Anthony Eid Saud and Gacem Cement. However, the need remains overwhelming.
“The storm caused extensive damage,” Mr. Dagba lamented. Many residents lost their roofs completely; others saw their homes destroyed. This first distribution will help some victims but not all.
He urged organizations, NGOs, and individuals to follow Mr. Eid Saud’s example. His prompt intervention provided relief to many victims in need.
“We appeal to all benevolent organizations for assistance,” the MCE pleaded. More people and institutions are needed to help alleviate suffering.
Mr. Dagba assured that all donated items will be accounted for properly. They will reach intended beneficiaries without discrimination. “With community leaders' support, distribution will be responsible and transparent,” he stated.
He emphasized that rebuilding lives after such devastation requires collective effort. “Our people are strong but need help to rise again,” he said.
The distribution exercise is part of a broader initiative led by the Assembly with local leaders and MPs’ offices involved. It aims to restore hope and dignity to families affected by the storm.
As recovery continues, Mr. Dagba's message is clear: Akatsi South needs more help now.
