Anloga’s first woman DCE vows to prioritise inclusive development

In a district known for its traditions, Sandra Seyram Kpedor is making history. She has been confirmed as the first female District Chief Executive (DCE) of Anloga Municipality. This moment is both symbolic and strategic.

Sandra's leadership is defined by her vision and commitment. She promises governance based on humility, unity, truth, and servant leadership.

“I am here to serve,” she said during her acceptance speech. “Our time together must focus on dedication, hard work, and honesty.” She emphasized that this is not the time for typical politics; they are here to build.

Born in Dzita, Sandra’s journey reflects resilience and community ties. She has a strong background in supply chain management and organizational leadership. Her experiences have given her insight into local issues like tidal waves, youth unemployment, healthcare gaps, and poor infrastructure.

Her career began in hospitality in Tema, where she learned service skills. Working in Guangzhou, China shaped her views on development. As a Supply Chain Manager for two international firms, she gained expertise in logistics and cross-cultural leadership.

“Development must be structured and inclusive,” she stated in her speech. It should rely on clear communication and collaboration among stakeholders.

These principles will guide her leadership as DCE of Anloga.

Sandra's confirmation is historic; she blends technical skills with grassroots experience. Her political journey with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) includes roles such as Constituency Women’s Organiser and Vice Chairperson of the NDC Asia Chapter.

As DCE, Sandra has an eight-point transformative agenda:

1. Improved healthcare delivery
2. Accessible quality education at all levels
3. Robust infrastructure development
4. Enhanced safety and community security
5. Tourism development showcasing Anlo’s culture
6. Youth and women empowerment programs
7. Support for farming, fishing, and local entrepreneurship
8. Broader initiatives aimed at inclusive growth

“This district will not just survive—it will thrive,” she asserted confidently.

Her work with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) provided insights into local health challenges faced by constituents. Her dedication to community service aligns well with her new role as DCE.

Colleagues describe her leadership style as people-centered and results-driven. They believe her ability to manage diverse teams is crucial for Anloga at this time.

“Sandra understands the soul of this district,” said a local assembly member. “She knows its challenges well.”

With climate change impacting coastal communities and youth seeking opportunities beyond traditional jobs, the stakes are high for Anloga now more than ever.

Sandra Seyram Kpedor's confirmation represents more than just a political shift; it signals potential transformation for the district.

She brings global perspectives while staying rooted in local values—her dual lens will be vital for building a resilient community.

“We are not here to chase headlines,” she concluded firmly. “We are here to change lives.”

Anloga may have found not just a new DCE but also a leader for future generations.
