The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will officially receive 28 gold ornaments and regalia this weekend during a mini durbar at the Manhyia Palace.
The event, coinciding with the centenary of Nana Agyeman Prempeh I’s return from exile, will also honor Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan.
Originally housed in South Africa's Gold of Africa Museum, the artifacts—dating back to the 19th century—were acquired through efforts led by Manhyia Palace Museum's Ivor Agyeman-Duah and ex-MP Edward Ennin.
They include linguist staffs, gold weights, swords, and necklaces, reflecting Asante court traditions.
The return marks a major cultural milestone, part of a broader restitution effort that has restored 67 Asante treasures this year, including items from the UK and the US.
