Ashanti Regional Police Command demands release of soldiers involved in Nyinahin shootings

The Ashanti Regional Police are working with the Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces. They aim to release military officers involved in a civilian's death at Nyinahin.

The deceased is Akwasi Lala, also known as Kushivi. He was killed during a confrontation with mourners. The mourners were on their way to a burial at the Nyinahin cemetery. Three others were injured in this incident.

A press statement was issued by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Godwin Ahianyo. He is the Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer.

DSP Ahianyo mentioned that DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe visited the crime scene. He also visited the injured victims in the hospital.

The Regional Commander assured the community of a thorough investigation. He promised that those responsible would be brought to justice.
