The chief of Banda-Boase, Odeɛfoɔ Dua Bata Buoɔ Ligbi Wullotei II, has condemned recent vandalism. This incident occurred at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) office. It was carried out by some upset youth.
The vandalism followed the nomination of Peter Donji as District Chief Executive (DCE). The angry NDC youth wanted Emmanuel Donkor, the Assembly Member for Banda Boase, instead.
At a press conference, the chief apologized and condemned the behavior. He stated it does not reflect Banda Boase's values. He plans to engage with the youth and community to address their concerns.
The chief thanked President Mahama for appointing Ahmed Ibrahim as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs. He also congratulated DCE nominee Peter Donji and pledged his support.
Meanwhile, Mr. Donkor distanced himself from the violence. He urged supporters to focus on supporting the DCE nominee. He trusts President Mahama’s decisions regarding nominations.
Donkor called the youth's actions unfortunate and stressed they were wrong.
