Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has launched major initiatives to address Ghana’s housing deficit and modernize its land administration system.
Speaking on Monday, he inaugurated the new Lands Commission headquarters in Accra and over 1,000 affordable housing units in Tema, Community 26.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the critical role of efficient land administration, citing data showing that 90% of Ghanaians depend on land for their livelihoods.
The reforms focus on modern infrastructure, digitalization, and skilled personnel to boost efficiency and investment.
The Vice President also introduced the “Decade of Housing” policy to tackle the housing deficit, using a public-private partnership model for sustainable financing.
These efforts, he noted, demonstrate the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and improving citizens’ livelihoods.
