Bono Minister orders NEDCo to tackle intermittent power outages

The Bono Regional Minister, Joseph Addae Akwaboa, addressed power outages on Monday. He ordered the Sunyani Area of NEDCo to act quickly.

He called the situation unfortunate and expressed concern. “Our opponents are politicising the power failures,” he said. He urged NEDCo to proactively solve the issue.

Mr. Akwaboa also asked for better communication with the media and public. During a visit to NEDCo's power plant in Sunyani, he discussed technical challenges causing outages.

He learned that these issues are not related to "dumsor." He tasked NEDCo with resolving these challenges to restore full power supply.

“Why are these challenges recurring in 2025?” he questioned. He emphasized that it is not about dumsor returning as some claim. “We are here to reset the country,” he added.

Mr. Akwaboa urged the media to report responsibly. This would help prevent making the government unpopular.

After their meeting, Mr. Eugene Odoi Addo, Sunyani Area Manager of NEDCo, spoke to the public. He asked them to remain calm while they address technical issues.

He mentioned that engineers from Tamale have arrived for support. They assured everyone that solutions would come soon.
