Buoho residents want quarry activities streamlined to ease exposure to risk

Residents of Buoho in the Afigya Kwabre South District are seeking government help. They want better regulation of local quarry companies.

The residents say these companies endanger lives. There have been reports of deaths, injuries, and trauma.

They claim blasting activities have become more dangerous. Stones often fly into homes, causing cracks in buildings.

Nana Kwabena Marfo, the Chief Priest of Buoho, shared his experience. He described how a stone recently flew into his house.

He criticized the quarry companies for ignoring their social responsibilities. The community lacks developmental projects and access to clean water.

He warned that the situation could lead to chaos. Residents will not tolerate activities that threaten their safety any longer.
