The decomposing body of an unidentified man has been discovered at Potsin in the Gomoa East District, suspected to have been electrocuted while attempting to cut live electricity cables.
According to an eyewitness, residents of Potsin T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School area experienced a power outage last Friday, later traced to cut cables.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) restored power, but on Wednesday, a farmer discovered the lifeless body near the site, along with pliers and a backpack containing cables.
Police have been informed and are expected to investigate.
Cable theft has been on the rise in the Central Region, with similar incidents recently reported in Awutu Okoampa and Papase.
