The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong, has officially handed over two newly constructed market facilities to the Birim Central Municipality.
These facilities, located at the Kumasi Lorry Park in Oda and Nkwantanum, were funded by the World Bank through the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme.
At separate ceremonies on January 3, 2025, Mr. Acheampong emphasized the importance of proper maintenance to ensure the markets benefit future generations.
He praised the Akufo-Addo-led NPP government for its developmental projects, which he noted have left a lasting impact across Ghana.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Joyce Adwoa Agyeiwaa, and other dignitaries, including NPP executives and former officials, were present.
Municipal Coordinating Director Haruna Amadu Zure expressed gratitude and pledged to uphold a culture of maintenance for the new facilities.
