Fire destroys 15-dormitory hostel at Kwadaso NMTC

A fire at the Kwadaso Nursing and Midwifery Training College has displaced some students. The incident occurred on Monday evening in one of the school's hostels.

Fifteen rooms were destroyed, along with students' personal belongings and study materials.

Students reported that the fire started in one room and spread quickly. Efforts to contain the flames were unsuccessful.

The fire service took hours to extinguish the blaze, which caused significant damage. An eyewitness named Emmanuel noted that their intervention stopped the fire from spreading to nearby houses.

"The fire service succeeded in preventing further damage," he said. Many students lost their personal items and study materials in the fire.

Judith Awuah, an affected student, stated, "All our books and learning items have been destroyed."

The cause of the fire is still unknown. However, students suspect frequent power outages may be a factor.

The fire service has begun investigations into this incident.
