Fire destroys four shops at Santa Maria

A fire outbreak at Santa Maria A-Land near the taxi rank destroyed four metal container shops, mainly food stalls, on Monday afternoon.

The fire, which started around 2:00 pm, was brought under control by firefighters from the Anyaa Fire Station within an hour, led by ADO II Kobina Nyameye Dey.

With support from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), power was isolated in the area to ensure safety during the operation.

Despite the swift response, the contents of the affected shops were completely destroyed.

The Ghana National Fire Service has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze.
