A devastating fire tore through multiple wooden and container structures along the Agbogba-Ritz Junction stretch near Madina, Accra, causing widespread destruction.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly responded, battling intense flames fueled by the tightly packed wooden structures.
GNFS PR officer Alex King Nartey highlighted challenges, including limited access due to fortified container units and electric shocks from ECG poles within the structures.
At least 12 units were partially burnt, but firefighters managed to save over 50 nearby structures. The fire is now under control, with efforts ongoing to prevent re-ignition.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
