Garu NDC youth protest against leadership style of their MP

A youth group linked to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Garu has protested. They are upset with their Member of Parliament, Thomas Winsum Anabba.

The group claims the MP is unfair in distributing political appointments. They held a press conference on June 2, 2025, to voice their concerns.

They mentioned favoritism in the School Feeding Programme allocation. They also reported that the MP wants to reappoint someone to a position at the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).

This position is currently held by Mr. Thomas Tampuri Wennam. He was appointed just weeks ago and has started his duties.

The youth accused Dr. Anaba of working only with his supporters from the NDC primaries. They have asked national and regional NDC executives to intervene.

A spokesperson said, “We urge party leaders to call Dr. Anaba to order.” They want him to stop running a parallel administration.

In response, District Chief Executive Mr. John Abugba Abaare denied these allegations on behalf of the MP. He said the issues stem from poor coordination among local NDC executives in Garu.
