Groom dies at wedding ceremony in Akyem Anamase

Heartbreak engulfed Akyem Anamase near Oda in the Eastern Region last Friday when Chief Inspector Godwin Beniba, a groom and Station Officer at the Anamase Police Station, collapsed and died during his wedding ceremony.

Moments after arriving at the Anamase Hotel for the event, Chief Inspector Beniba complained of dizziness and collapsed while waiting for his bride.

Despite being rushed to the Anamase Clinic, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The shocking incident left hundreds of attendees, including police officers from across the country, in deep sorrow.

Preparations for the joyous occasion were abandoned as grief overtook the community.

His body has been sent to the Oda Government Hospital morgue for autopsy.
