Hwereso-Donaaso Obaapanin appeals to Otumfuo for burial permit of late chief

Nana Fosuah Tieamanie, Obaapanin of Hwereso-Donaaso in the Ashanti Region, has called on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, to grant permission for the burial of the late Nana Oppong Kesse III, the chief of Hwereso-Donaaso, who passed away seven years ago.

The delay in the burial is due to ongoing litigation between the Obaapanin and the Omanhene of Ejisu, which has yet to be resolved by the Kumasi Traditional Council.

In a press conference, Nana Fosuah urged Otumfuo to intervene to prevent further accumulation of mortuary fees.

She also criticized the imposition of a new Queen on Hwereso-Donaaso by the Ejisumanhemaa, asserting that only the chief can appoint a Queen mother.
