I am committed to improving standard of education - Hohoe MP

Worlanyo Tsekpo, the Member of Parliament for Hohoe, is committed to improving education in his area.

He plans to work with stakeholders on a program to address challenges in schools. These challenges have led to low student performance.

Tsekpo shared his plans during an interview with Myjoyonline.com. This was at a quiz competition organized by Led Concept Global.

He highlighted the lack of infrastructure as a major issue. Many students study under trees or in poor conditions.

To improve this, he will allocate funds for new classrooms. He wants to create better environments for teaching and learning.

“Some children still sit under trees in Hohoe,” he said. “The education system I inherited is not good.”

Tsekpo also plans to build ICT labs for 20 clusters of schools. This will help students gain skills needed for the modern world.

“We plan to provide 20 ICT centers,” he explained. “We are discussing this with the education director.”

Another issue is the lack of teacher housing in his area. He aims to secure funds for proper accommodations for teachers.

“We visited Wli and saw terrible staff quarters,” he noted. “We are working with the assembly on this.”

He emphasized that motivating teachers is crucial for improving education quality.

Tsekpo announced an awards scheme to recognize dedicated teachers.

“We will do everything possible to improve education standards in Hohoe,” he concluded. “We want it to be a benchmark for other constituencies.”
